ssaliva (Collapsing Market)
ssaliva is a Liège-based electronic music producer François Boulanger. Discreet but prolific, he has already released two excellent LPs on Ekster in 2016 and 2017. «WYIN» is ssaliva's new record on the Parisian label Collapsing Market released in March 2018.
«WYIN» is an atmospheric and destructive album, and highlights the great diversity of his work. When «Danger Came Smiling» and «For All I Care» seem accomplished and complex in their layout, «a» and «b» sound like unfinished Chain Reaction records that become striking in their brittleness.
Ethan Assouline’s design for «WYIN» shows blood stains on a white curtain that could remind Dexter TV Show’s captivating blood spatter patterns analysis at Miami Police Department. The picture creates a clearly defined texture, as comforting and as scary.
To celebrate «WYIN»’s release, ssaliva will play a deviant and immersive live set at The Community: Offline.
Cyrus (Collapsing Market)
Cyrus Goberville is co-curating the multidisciplinary Permanent Cuts sessions that were launched at The Community in November 2016. He co-runs the Paris-based Collapsing Market label with Louis Vial. Interested in contemporary scenes of both art and music, this collaborative project at The Community is a relevant way for him to gather the values of Collapsing Market.
The Community: Offline is a collective-run art space, that opened its doors in 2016 in the heart of the Château d’Eau neighborhood in Paris. The Community was born from a shared desire to encourage dialogue between creatives representing different disciplines by proposing them a multidisciplinary platform to exchange ideas.
